Bedard & Tufts

Mark Bedard and John Tufts are a playwriting duo known for sharp comedic writing and inventive adaptations of Marx Brothers material. They blend rapid-fire wit with warmhearted absurdity in works that skew both classic and contemporary. Their musical, It's Christmas, Carol!, written with Brent Hinkley, reimagines Dickens’ redemption tale through a zany, vaudevillian lens. Their new murder mystery, A Loco-Motive for Murder pairs classic whodunit suspense with screwball momentum. Their plays have been produced at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Alley Theater in Houston, earning attention for high-energy staging and crowd-pleasing comic timing. Based in New York and Chicago respectively, they bring vaudeville-era anarchy to modern audiences.
